I dont know who made out i only like 'emo' or whatever...i tend to like all the 'punk' stuff incl all the subgenres of it. Infact, i just like whatevers catchy or good to listen to in general. And yes, the new Strung Out Album does fucking rule.

I agree to a degree...except I am not close minded to the point where I only like certain types of music...I make an effort to listen and appreciate all forms...and I do genuinly like a lot of stuff...I enjoy pop punk loads...but mainly in the summer,as it seems to be more fitting with the party mood etc.
I like some hc too,but like everything else it becomes too samey(actually hc becomes too samey after the shortest amount of time)...the main thing is the bullshit associated within liking certain styles...on who is the most hardcore and who likes the newest bands...its pretentious when hardcore people do it,its always happened with pop punk bands and its just funny when nu-metallers do it.
It will never go away though..I remember people raving on about greenday...then as soon as they become successful they were branded sell outs...despite the fact the single they were accused of selling out with,was actually written when billy joe was 15.............
As for the punk crew being the most friendly.....the older ones definately are....but the young ones are just as elitist as anyone...and saying that..its a generation thing....no doubt if the staind fans etc are still around in ten years they will be just the same.
And the only time I usually get to play stuff I personally like is if someone else asks for it...it is very rare I will put something on for myself....and I have made a concious effort to play requests for you and your friends...as I realised that I tended to neglet to do that at Hollydeffs

to some extent pop punk's the sound of the summer. it is to some of the minority what ibiza anthems are to the majority. it's happy music. whereas nothing compliments the miserable winter better than dark dingy miserable music (radiohead an tha'). notice how at this stage of the year, the bit just between winter and summer noone's sure what to play. in fact noone really seems to be playing anything currently. i'm really looking forward to summer - it's shit in limbo.

i kinda see where youre coming from, but ive always protested against people reffering to those kinda vagrant bands as "just another pop punk band".

i love rufio, slick shoes, bodyjar, hot water music, saves the day, no use, nofx, deisel boy, dynamite boy.

summer will come soon enough and i will be stuck playing shit greenday style stuff.
